Betty Harmon

November 27, 1937 — February 26, 2015

SOUTH OGDEN-
Betty Jean Harmon, 77, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 surrounded by all her surviving children, grandchildren and very dear friend, Carolyn Pratt.
She was born November 27, 1937 in Laketown, Utah, daughter of Denning L. Smith and Verona E. Webb Smith. She was raised in Washington Terrace, Utah with her two brothers; Leroy and Weldon Smith.
On September 22, 1956 Betty married the love of her life, Lloyd Ray Harmon Sr. They were married for 51 wonderful years and never lost the love they felt for each other from the beginning.
She worked as a cafeteria worker with Weber County School District at Bonneville High; laughingly and lovingly we always called her “the lunch lady”.
Betty loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, picnicking, and making homemade food, with her specialty homemade rolls being a family favorite. She loved taking long rides anywhere in the mountains, with her hometown on the edge of Bear Lake being her favorite destination. She loved slow dancing with her dearest love, Lloyd, to her favorite music. Some more past times Betty enjoyed were; needle point, taking pictures, crossword puzzles, novels, and playing bingo with all her new friends. Knickknacks and beanie babies were some of her favorite things and she won many in her bingo games.
Surviving are six children; Lloyd R. Harmon Jr., Jerald D. Harmon, Robert M. (Jeanette) Harmon, Julie A. Ellis, Verona J. (Larry) Harmon, Karen M. Wright, and a very special granddaughter, Stefany M. (Charlie) Laymon, 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two brothers, Roy and Weldon Smith.
Preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Ray Harmon Sr. and daughter Debra Lee Harmon Byram.
