Betty Fawson

February 5, 1931 — November 1, 2013

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away, surrounded by her family, November 1, 2013, due to complications following surgery. Born February 5, 1931 in Salt Lake City to Harry and Emily Luing. Married Wayne Fawson, December 27, 1947 (later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple). Betty Fawson’s legacy is one of service to her loving husband of 66 years, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, friends, Kearns Senior Center, neighbors and her dedication to her callings for the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked hard to take care of herself and her husband’s health with daily exercise and nutrition; this was a big part of her life. She supported her kids in every endeavor they under took. Mom was a great fan of her grandchildren’s games and performances. She loved to travel and to be outdoors, from Southern Utah to Island Park, Yellowstone Park, and the Big Island of Hawaii. She was always on the go! Betty is survived by her husband, Wayne; children, Rodney (Michelle), Susan (Marty) Petterborg, Barbara (Mike) Woody, Scott (Trude), Bruce, Marty (Trudee) and Kay (Janet); 24 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, 11:00 am at the Kearns 4th Ward, 4232 West 5015 South, with viewings from 6-8:00 pm on Friday and one hour prior, both at the church. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan.
