Bette Wilson

Our Beloved Sister, Aunt and Friend, peacefully passed away on January 23, 2015. She was born February 6, 1931 in Murray, Utah, to Theodore Leroy Freeman and Mary Cleo Kirkham. She attended Murray High School where she graduated in 1949. She moved to Greeley, Colorado in 1953 to study skating from Joy Norcross Jr., a three time National Champion. She worked for Mountain Bell as an operator for 33 years. Bette entered her first skating competition May of 1954 at the Berthane Skating Rink in Ogden, Utah. She was a US Olympic Skater, singer, writer, dancer, and actress. She has earned over 1,000 trophies and medals in roller skating, ice skating, and dancing. Bette spent 34 years of her life in competitive skating. She was actively skating up until a year before her passing. Bette was a member of the LDS Church. She enjoyed serving as a genealogy teacher and had other callings.
She was married to Colin Wilson on June 15, 1956 after meeting on a blind date and then fell in love. They both loved ballroom dancing and music. They spent many wonderful years traveling the world.
She is survived and remembered by her Sister, Bonnita Littell; three Nieces and two Nephews and many close and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Colin; Father, Teddy; Mother, Cleo; Brother, Kent and Nephew, Clayton; 2 Great Nieces: Kavie R. and Marquie.
A viewing will be Friday evening, January 30, 2015 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and again Saturday, 9 am to 10 am. Funeral services will be Saturday January 31, 2015, at 10:00 am. The Funeral and viewing will be at Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary located at 10055 South State Street. Interment to follow the funeral services at the Lehi Cemetery at 1000 N. 400 E. Lehi, Utah. Flowers can be sent to Lake Hills Mortuary.
