Bette Louise Travis Sylvester

On September 12, 2024, Bette - loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend - passed away at age 85. 

Bette was an avid reader and could always be found with her head in a book, soaking up the stories on the pages. 

Her love of the written romance paralleled her own life and the love she felt for her husband, Ron, who passed away too early and left her with the task of raising her young son and mentoring her daughters as they entered adulthood. 

Bette was born July 11, 1939 and was the oldest daughter of James and Melva Travis. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters, and her husband. 

Bette is survived by her two daughters, Frieda (Paul), Kathy (Dave), and son Ron (Misty) and lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Please join us in wishing our mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother peace on her journey to resume her great romance with her husband. The family will receive friends at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary at 3115 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on September 30, 2024. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. The graveside service will be at the West Jordan Cemetery at 7925 South 1300 West in West Jordan following the funeral service.
