Bette Jean Riding

Bette Jean Togliatti White, 79, passed away on June 4, 2024.  Bette was born on April 15, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Bob Togliatti and LaMont Togliatti.  Bette attended Olympus High School.  She married James Ray Urry in 1963.  They had three children: Cindi, James, and Troy.  They divorced.  She married LaCohn Bensen Riding in 1972.  Later divorced.  

Bette was proud of the fact that she had a strong work ethic which she passed on to her children.  She worked for Hercules Aerospace for twelve years and at UPS Customer Service for over five years.  She loved being an independent Mary Kay representative for several decades.

Bette enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, scrapbooking and journaling.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.   She served as a Stake and Ward missionary for four years and also served at the Church’s Conference Center, Bishop’s Storehouse, and the Draper Temple.  

Bette is survived by her three children:  Cindi Urry, James (Heather) Riding, Troy (Monica) Riding, eight grandchildren: Candice (AJ) Sorensen, Cameron (Kaci) Crossland, Brock Riding, MaKayley Riding, Savannah Riding, Taylor (Taylor Brooke) Riding, Benjamin (Makaela) Riding, Sloan (Cory) Walker, ten great-grandchildren, sister Sharon Visser, brothers Alfred (Susanne) White, Terry (Judith) White.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and LaMont Togliatti, Alfred and Jewel Mecham White, brother Robert White and sisters Marian Reed, Barbara Mackelprang and Linda Deeble.

The family would like to thank her numerous friends, neighbors, nurses and hospice for their loving care.
