Beth A. Jensen (Grandma Betty) Age 95, passed away on February 24, 2017 in Farmington, UT. She was born on January 2, 1922 in Salt Lake City, UT to Norman and Lyle Ahern.
She Married Leo D. Jensen (Grandpa Dewey) on September 14, 1940, with their union later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 5, 1950.
Grandma Betty loved to crochet and most friends and family members are recipients of her Afghans. She found happiness in gardening and was very proud of her beautiful flower gardens. She loved to, and was a very good cook. Loved to tell everyone they were her “favorite”. A practice which ceased when one of her “Favorites” sent her a present for one of the holidays, and signed the card as from Your Favorite. Never found out who it was.
Grandma Betty was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), had compassion for everyone she met, serving faithfully in many callings including the Primary, Relief Society, Young Womens, a Temple worker and later serving a full time mission with her husband in the Washington D.C. Temple.
She is survived by her children, Errol, Mike, Gayle (Nyle Cannon) Vicky (Kent Johnson deceased) Steven (LaPriel), 20 Grand Children, 61 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
A few of those who were there to greet her on her passing were husband Leo Jensen, both parents, Three Brothers, Jodie Steele (daughter) Scott Brown (grandson) son in-law Kent Johnson, and Grandson in-law Brian Warden.
The Family would like to express a special “Thank You” to all those at Country Care and Amber, Kristy and Rhonda with Hospice for their loving care. You were all her Favorite.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the LDS Chapel located on 1160 East Vine Street in Murray(60th South)
Viewing: Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Memorial Mortuary 5850 S. 900 E. Murray, UT 84121 from 6:00pm to 8pm
Interment will be at Lake Hills Cemetery at the completion of the Funeral activities.Service Information
