Beth Bradshaw

Beth Ann Newman Bradshaw, 93, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at her home in Holladay. She was born October 29, 1921 in Salt Lake City to Frank William Newman and Geneve Ann McKenzie Newman. After graduating from South High School, she worked on the Owyhee Indian Reservation in Nevada and in New York City in the information booth at Macys and as an elevator attendant. World War II played a large role in her life and upon returning to Salt Lake, she worked at the Utah Arms Ammunition Plant. Beth was actively involved in several military organizations which she maintained throughout her life. She also worked many years at Big Piney Oil & Gas Company.
She married Carl Wayne Clements September 3, 1946 and later divorced. She married Gilbert LeRoy Bradshaw “Gib” on July 31, 1959 and resided in Holladay for the next 40 years until his death in 1999. They enjoyed traveling, camping, spending weekends at their cabin in Woodland and winters at their condo in St. George. Their favorite destination was Hawaii, where Gib was stationed for seven years during WWII. After Gib’s death, she continued to live in her home with the help of family and many good friends.
Beth loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite activity was going to lunch with friends and family. She loved all animals, especially cats. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served faithfully in many callings.
She is survived by two daughters: Betty Powell (Terry) and Robyn Adams (Decker); eight grandchildren: Angela Barratt (Clint), Alan Powell, Ben Adams (Allie), Amy Hansen (Jordan), Emily Webb (Joey), Alyson Kennah (Parker), Laurel Newton (Andrew), Katie Adams; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother (Julian Newman).
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26th at the Holladay North Stake Center, 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East) at 12 noon. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service from 11:00 – 11:45. Interment- Holladay Memorial Park. Memories may be shared at www.holladaycottonwoodmortuary.com
