Benjamin Kent Taylor

July 18, 1934 — April 13, 2017

Benjamin Kent Taylor, 82, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2017, in South Jordan, Utah. He was born on July 18, 1934, in Lewisville, Idaho to Marion Lewis and Sarah Elizabeth Taylor. He married Joyce Hart Taylor on March 15, 1957 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Kent worked in the automobile business and served as a car sales manager at Hart Pontiac-Cadillac-Mazda for 42 years. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying golfing, fishing, hunting, training and riding horses, and being in the mountains. He loved Island Park, especially spending time with his family up at his beloved cabin on Henry’s Lake. Many wonderful family memories were made there. Most of all he loved his family and sharing his love for life with them. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. He loved and knew the scriptures and especially loved teaching the Sunday School Gospel Doctrine.
He is survived by daughter Cecy Burtenshaw (Kevin), son Michael Kent Taylor (Leslie), son Kirk Charles Taylor (Natalie), 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Joyce Hart Taylor, his parents Marion Lewis and Sarah Elizabeth Taylor, brother William Taylor (Mary) and sister Edythe Lewis (Alva)
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017. The viewing begins at 9:30 am with the funeral service starting at 11:00 am at the Castlerock LDS Chapel, 260 Castlerock Lane, Idaho Falls, Idaho. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Annis Little Butte Cemetery, East Menan Lorenzo Highway, Rigby, Idaho. Condolences may be left at www.memorialutah.com.
