Beneice Neeley

Berneice Nash Neeley, age 87, died 10 October 2014 in Murray, Utah, of natural causes. Born 27 February 1927 in Salem, Utah, to Bernard William and Emma Anderson Nash. Graduated South High School 1944. Received two-year secretarial certificate from the University of Utah 1946. Married Raymond Powell Neeley 3 September 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died 14 April 2005.
Worked as a secretary 20 years then opened a typing service in her home in 1964. By the time she closed her typing business at the end of 2011 she had typed 191 masters’ theses, 61 doctoral dissertations, manuscripts for 25 books, and thousands of pages of other documents.
Served with her husband in Alabama Birmingham Mission 1984-85. Served in various LDS Church positions on ward and stake levels in Sunday School, Primary, and Relief Society. Prepared weekly ward announcement sheets for 45+ years. Served as volunteer proofreader one day a week for the Ensign and New Era magazines 1992-2007 also April to August 2009 (at age 82). Compiled 325-page book of the history of the Salt Lake Granite Park Stake on the occasion of its 50th anniversary (February 2009).
Survived by daughters Ramona Bahr (Richard) and Diana, both Salt Lake City; and sons Lloyd (Linda), Draper; Kenneth (Debbie), Salt Lake City; Steven (Christine), Palmer, Alaska; Mark (Jill), Kennewick, Washington; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Zora Crowther, Richland, Washington. Preceded in death by parents; husband; brother Karl E. Nash; and sister Mildred Israelsen.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 15 October, 2014, 11 am at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday, 14 October 2014, 6-8 pm at the same location, also prior to services 10:00-10:45am. Interment Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
