Belva Jean Flynn Smith

On
October 22, 2016 Belva Jean (Flynn) Smith of Taylorsville returned home to her Father in Heaven. Beloved wife of the late Clarence E. Smith Jr., mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother was reunited with her husband and many loved ones.
Born May 24, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph Patrick Flynn and Mary Viola (Williams) Flynn. She married Clarence E. “Sonny” Smith Jr. on November 10, 1954 and was later sealed in the LDS Temple for time and all eternity.
She had been fighting her health for a few years & was taken quickly and peacefully. She was strong, courageous and loved by all that were blessed to know her.
She loved doing crafts and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed watching her children play baseball, camping with her family and loved the outdoors. She was an excellent cook and baker. She had a treasure of recipes which her daughter and daughter-in-law’s use today.
Her beautiful life will ever be cherished in the lives of her children. She raised 5 children: Jeff (Nancy) Taylorsville, Jan (Kathie) Glendale, Arizona, Paul Taylorsville, Julie Gamble (Wayne) Kearns, Kevin (Shannon) Taylorsville 14 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister and one brother.
She will be missed by those who remain. She is survived by her four brothers and three sisters. She came from a large family and enjoyed getting together for summer and holiday activities.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2016 at the Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held Saturday morning 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. at the Mortuary prior to services.
Interment will be at the Memorial Redwood Cemetery
