It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Belva Jean Anderson (Jean) on February 2, 2025 at the age of 78. Jean was born on August 15, 1946 in Salt Lake City to Joyce and Hilton Poulton. She was at home with many family members by her side.

Jean met the love of her life and beloved husband Darrel while they were both attending Granger High School, married March 19, 1965 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Jean was known for her strong will, unwavering determination and also the love and support for her family and community. Jean and Darrel loved line and square dancing, they belonged to the Rocketeers Square Dancing Club and loved to travel with the club to the different venues for dancing and the friendships they developed. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jean worked as a preschool teacher and administrative assistant. After retiring she volunteered at the Magna Senior Citizen Center and started teaching a line dancing class.

Preceded in death: Parents Joyce and Hilton Poulton

Survived by: Darrel Anderson (husband), Linda (Kyle) Kelson, Lynn (Sheila) Anderson, Glen (Natasha) Anderson. Grandchildren: Justin (Cass) Anderson, Zane (Kathryn) Anderson, Garett Kelson, Gavin (Macy) Kelson, Gage Kelson, Mercedes (Trevor) Dalton, Brylee Coombs, Chevy Anderson. Great Grandchildren: Ripley Anderson, Ryno Dalton. Sisters: Sue (Lane) Larkins, Barbara (Earl) Roberts, she is survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123 with viewings Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and again from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. before services at the same location. Interment will be Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
