Bauduy Robert Grier Sr. was born on May 14, 1925 to Alma Warren and Warren Grier and the youngest of five children. He was a native of Wilmington, Delaware. Bauduy graduated from the University of Delaware in 1950 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at the University of Delaware, he was a member of the track and field, swimming, diving and cheerleading teams. He was inducted into the Blue Hens Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.  Bauduy was a World War II hero. In March of 1945, his plane was shot down and after 23 days floating alone on a life raft in the South China Sea, he was rescued. He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Monir Kitabchi Grier, and is survived by his son Massoud Parvar and his wife Azzat, his grandchildren Natasha Larsen and Victor and Hulene Parvar, great grandchildren Dustin and Hayden Larsen.  He is also survived by his first wife Betty Jo Grier, and their children Stephanie Williams, Delran, NJ; Jane Layman, of Roanoke, VA; and Bauduy Robert Grier, Jr. of San Diego, CA; as well as, his grandchildren, Ted Williams, Alison Williams, Elizabeth Burrow, and Victoria Layman. A military funeral will be held in his honor Saturday, March 11, 2017 @2:00pm. Condolences can be sent to Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 East Bengal Blvd.- Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
