Barbra Ann Davis

May 4, 1935 — August 11, 2019

Barbra Ann Davis, age 84, died on August 11, 2019, in Sandy, Utah. She was born on May 4, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Wesley and Fannie Sylvester Cowart. She had 6 children, 1 stepson; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. She could often be found surrounded by her many friends at her place of residence, the Silver Pines Senior Community. She loved people and enjoyed sharing her life stories with anyone willing to listen. She was very proud of her grandchildren and loved to share pictures with all. Barbara enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and working on jigsaw puzzles with her sister, Rose, and her friends at Silver Pines. She loved to try new things like different styles of painting and knitting, and got great pleasure in sharing them with her children.
She donated her services at Alta View Hospital, and at the end of her career she worked at Intermountain Medical Center with her sister, Rose.
The family would like to send a special thank you to her niece, Larain Jolley, for her assistance and compassion in helping Barbra in her final years.
She is survived by her daughters: Christie McRiley (Michael), Denise Cassell, Melanie Wiser and Michelle Lofthouse; and son, Timothy Kaumans (Tami); and stepson, Ron Simmons (Curly). Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Davis; son, Robert John McLaughlan; and sons-in-law, John Cassell and Michael Lofthouse.
In accordance with Barbra’s wishes, no services will be held. Donations can be made to Copper Ridge Assisted Living, West Jordan, Utah in memory of Barbara.
