Barbara Weeks was 78 years old
Passed of natural causes on Sunday, September 22 in Sandy Utah
She was born on April, 18 1941 in Pueblo, Colorado
She was married to Jerry L Weeks for 57 years
Barb was such a bright beautiful light! She shared that light with all people that crossed her path. Barb loved her career. She worked as a Medical Technologist for 44 years. She got her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Colorado. She worked at several hospitals including head of special chemistry at Fitzsimons Army Medical Base and She was a supervisor of Hematology at Brooke Army Medical Center, where she retired. Her dedication to her profession was immense. You could say that her career was also her hobby. She liked to keep up with the latest research about health and well being. Barb loved to share her discoveries and medical knowledge with all of her friends and family.
During her retirement she took many RV trips with Jerry, her kids and grandkids. Including, Glacier, Yellowstone, Moab, and Whale watching in Washington down to the Redwoods in California on the PCH. Just recently they took a trip to Santa Fe for her High School reunion to reunite with classmates from her school in Livorno Italy. She also looked forward to going to the club. Barb had great camaraderie with her friends in her water aerobics class.
Mom also loved to work in her Rose Garden!!!! She spent endless hours of time amongst her Roses. She also loved to cook and create new recipes. She had great times with her Gourmet Club.
Barb and Jerry were together for 60 years. They met in their first year of college at the University of Maryland in 1959 in Munich Germany. They have shared many adventures together all over the world, one of her favorites being houseboating at Lake Powell with family and friends. They enjoyed many years together, full of Love and Laughter.
Barbara is survived by her husband Jerry, children, Aimee and Colleen, grandchildren, Keegan, Tariel, River and Savanna.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Muz and Mac
The Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 3rd @ Cactus & Tropicals
2735 S. 2000 E Salt Lake City, Utah
6:30 – 9:30
A Celebration of Life will also be held Sunday, October 12th @ 23736 Navajo Road, Indian Hills, Colorado from 1:00-3:30 PM.
