Barbara, age 89, died on February 15, 2019 in Cottonwood Heights, Utah. She was born on December 14, 1929 in Murray, Utah to Vernon H. Tester and Millicent Boyer. Married to Stanley F. Seward on June 22, 1949. Their marriage was solemnized n March 2, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Barbara was the oldest of 7 children. Graduated from South High. Faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many positions in the Primary, Sunday School, and Relief Society. She enjoyed gardening, producing many years of delicious fruits and vegetables that were enjoyed by her family and friends. She was a bookkeeper for the Souvall Brothers Furniture store and later worked in the Vaults for the LDS Church. She was passionate about family history, searching her own family genealogy and helping others with theirs. She loved the mountains and outdoors. A member of the Wasatch Gem Society for many years. She was always interested in outer space and the space programs. Later in life, she served a faithful mission in Albuquerque, New Mexico among the Laguna/Acoma Indians where she made lifelong friends.
She is survived by her daughters: Dixie Kartchner (Reed), Millicent Jane Frehner, Jennifer Bailey, Eugenia Luing; brothers: Lyle Tester (Lyn), Dixon Tester, Marvin Tester (Gail); sister: Judith Love; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister; Millicent Jeanne Stock, and brother; Neil Tester.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the Canyon Ridge Ward House, 2695 East Fort Union Blvd. at 11:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will follow at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.Service Information
