Barbara Geraldine Jones Moses, 85, passed away on May 13, 2020 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on August 5, 1934 in New Brunswick, Canada to Clarence Bellamy Jones and Florence Marie McKeil Jones. She married Robert Martin Moses in September 1962.
Barbara was the firstborn child in a family that became well known in the community since it grew to include three sets of twins. Barbara was not one of them.
When Barbara visited New Brunswick, she loved to spend time with family and old friends from school.
Barbara graduated from the Burtts Corner High School and the Fredericton Business College. She worked for a local newspaper and the Provincial Government prior to moving to Salt Lake City. In Salt Lake City, Barbara worked for Valley Mortgage, Zions Bank and Intermountain Regional Medical Program at the U of U Hospital.
Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A temple worker at the Jordan River Temple and Hosted at the Church offices in Salt Lake. She also held several positions in her Brighton Point Ward. She was a diligent supporter of the ward and the Relief Society not missing a meeting or activity.
Barbara was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She would give treats to the neighbor children when they brought bones to their dog Mallon. She loved her dogs Mallon and Tobe.
Barbara’s neighbor and very good friend Qwen Young always had Barbara help her girls get ready for their dates, an activity she really enjoyed.
Barbara’s favorite color was BLUE! Just about everything she wore was blue. Barbara was an avid BYU fan, it’s not known if this was because their color is blue or not, but she went to all the games.
Barbara was a beloved long time friend to many. We will remember her sweet spirit, warm smile, and her beautiful white hair, which was always perfect.
Barbara is survived by her Sister Bernice Lois (Stewart) Jones, Brother Burtis Frank (Alice) Jones and step children Laraine Mika, Martyn Moses, Sandra MacDonald and Janet Graham. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Florence Jones, siblings Darlene Bernice Jones who died in infancy, Carl Bertram (Carolyn) Jones, Winston Winslow (Bonita) Jones and Winnifred Marie (Delmas) Knox.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 11 am at the Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South.Service Information
