Barbara Mackelprang

Barbara JoAnn White Mackelprang, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was born on October 6, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She left this earthly existence on Easter, April 1, 2018. She was the eldest child of Alfred Henry White II and Jewell Meacham. She is the mother to four children, Romel W. (Susan), Michelle, Sheila Brown (Matt), and Shaun (Linda). She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Lynda Deeble and Marion Reed. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Sonny White (Susan), Terry White (Judy), Robert White (Leslie), Sharon Visser (Lucas), and Betty Riding.












On a family vacation, she met Romel J. Mackelprang in Kanab, Utah. They fell in love and shortly thereafter, on June 4, 1954, they became eternal companions in a ceremony performed in the Salt Lake temple. Throughout their marriage, they brought out the best in each other, and in those around them. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and her community. Her life was about doing good for others. She taught her children and her grandchildren they could accomplish anything they set their heart to do. She is adored by 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.


Funeral service will be at noon on Saturday, April 7 at the LDS Wasatch 4th ward on 8170 Short Hills Drive with a viewing from 10:00-11:30. Interment will be at Elysian Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South.
