Barbara Bowen

Barbara Jean Bowen died on September 29, 2014 from complications following surgery. She was born November 1, 1950 in Dragerton, Utah. She was the daughter of Ray Jones and Mae Beth Bowen. Barbara grew up in Dragerton and graduated from East Carbon High School. She attended the College of Eastern Utah and later studied Dental Hygiene and modeling. Barbara had a beautiful voice. She studied voice for many years and was eventually able to sing in the Mormon Youth Choir.
Barbara had a great love for animals and a wonderful sense of humor. One of her favorite activities as a teenager was barrel racing on her horse Gypsy.
Barbara is survived by a brother William Bowen, sister, Julene Oliver (Reid) and nieces, Janelle Ozawa (Keith), and Shawna O’Grady (Charles), nephews William D. Bowen and Rick Oliver (Liisa).
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 , 11:00 am at the Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10:00 until 10:45 am prior to the funeral services. Burial will be a Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah.
