Arthur “Paul” Vanderlinden
April 26, 1931 — October 20, 2017
Arthur Paul Vanderlinden passed away in the early hours of October 20, 2017, at the age of 86. He was born April 26, 1931 to Arthur William and Nellie Vermaat Vanderlinden in Salt Lake City, Utah. He married his high school sweetheart Inez Mauchley on August 11, 1950 and together they raised 6 children.
He attended West High School graduating in 1948. Paul was a man of great honesty and integrity. He loved horseback riding, family camp outs, fast boats, collectable guns, antique vehicles, big trucks, dogs and his family. In his younger years he was a finish carpenter, a craft he learned from his father. He started Paul’s Mill and Door Hanging Company in 1954 with his wife. But he always liked the trucks he hauled his supplies with, more than carpentry. He bought a few trucks and started trucking in about 1960. Later, his boys started Rapco Distributing and Paul was with them every day. He enjoyed what he did for a living.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, his children Valene (Marvin) Hagen, Susan (John) Hubbard, Art (Vickie), Roy (Sandy), Ted (Mary Jane), Don (Kim); 22 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and his sister Beverly Noble. Preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Shannon Marie.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 11:00 am, at the Cottonwood 1st Ward, 5913 South Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday, October 25th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 So. 900 East, Murray, Utah and again at the church from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.
Interment will be at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd., Cottonwood Heights, Utah.Service Information
