Arlene Bone

August 2, 1943 — September 12, 2021

On September 12th of 2021 the queen of sparkle left her loving family to be with her brother, Billy. Arlene passed away in the comfort of her own home; one hand being held by each of her loving children.
Arlene was born on August 2nd of 1943 in the small town of Wilkinsburg, PA. Growing up in a rambunctious house at 1214 Center Street, she was consistently surround by family. Pittsburgh was and will always be her home. GO STEELERS!
After Arlene lost her best friend, her brother, she decided it was her time to help others. Leaving Pittsburgh and traveling through The South she protested during the civil rights movement, marched with Martin Luther King Jr, was hosed down by the fire department, arrested and told to back down. But, in true Arlene fashion, she persisted. She was a force to be reckoned with.
Several years later, with a four-year-old in hand she found her way to Bountiful, UT. Arlene worked tirelessly to support her and her daughter by waiting tables. At a small Denny’s off 5th South in SLC, she locked eyes with the love of her life, Warren (Jay) Bone. “He’s going to ask me on a date whether he wants to or not.” She was determined. After several dropped hints and many Grand-Slam breakfasts, Jay asked Arlene, who would be the love his life, on their first date. Engaged on Valentine’s Day then married on April Fools; the rest was just one big love story.
Arlene loved Christmas, music, sweet-rolls and had a passion for shopping. You could often catch her on the run to Cottonwood Mall, Starbucks in hand. She traveled around the country with her sweetheart. “Let’s hit the road, Daddy.” She visited many states and national parks, watched the solar eclipse in its totality and visited the grave of her second love, Elvis.
She was incredibly generous and taught all of us to do acts of kindness, especially without recognition. If she saw someone in need, she was first in line to help. She had a contagious laugh and a witty sense of humor. She loved deeply and believed greatly in a higher power. She tried every religion on for size and decided it was simple: “Like Jesus said, just love everyone”
She built unique and meaningful relationships with everyone around her, even with random strangers at the grocery store. We’ll miss our nebby best friend.
Preceded in death by her sister (Dorothy Irene Campbell), brother (William Francis Campbell Jr), mother (Cora Ann Campbell), and her father (William Francis Campbell); survived by her loving husband, Warren Jay Bone, her children Cora Murray (Jim) and Bill Bone (Britte), and her grandchildren Kristina Brockman (Jordan), Brendon Martinez, Therron Murray, and Makyndra Murray, along with her honorary grandchildren Liesel Blue and Alastair Finn
Arlene has made a sizable impact on countless lives, and it would be impossible for her absence to not be noticed. Honoring her legacy will be easy for the Bone family, but it will be with a heavy heart. We miss you, mom. Love you mean it!
The family would like to say a HUGE thank you to The Canyons Hospice people who were so wonderful to us.
