Arla Zoe Hendricks

Arla Zoe Hendricks, 86, possessed extraordinary organizational skills which she put to excellent use on Earth as a wife, mother, and homemaker. Heaven is now benefiting from those skills. Arla passed away in her sleep early in the morning of March 5, 2022 of natural causes due to age. Arla was born on November 12, 1935 in Lehi, Utah to Marie Kinder and Arlán Bate. She was raised in Lander, Wyoming and graduated from Lander Valley High School. She attended Brigham University in Provo where she met Edgar “Ed” Eugene Hendricks, Jr. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 5, 1958. Arla and Ed remained devoted partners to each other from the beginning when they exchanged their wedding vows. Arla’s testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was deep and lifelong. Arla enjoyed cross-stitching and vintage television shows. Arla would host family “picnic” get-togethers in the homestead garage which leaves many fond memories. Her whipped jello salads and deviled eggs were favorites. Arla is survived by Ed, her beloved husband, and five of her six children: Neal (Gladys) Hendricks of Orlando, Florida; Carol (Michael) DeCaria of Millcreek, Utah; Joyce (Brent) Openshaw of Liberty, Utah; Bruce Hendricks of Anchorage, Alaska; and Alice (John) Stafford of Louisville, Kentucky. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Neal Lynn, Marjorie, Tyler, Aaron, Ken, Brandon, Heather, Jenny, and Amber. There are two greatgrandchildren. Arla was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Cheryl; and her siblings: Neal, Bob, Ella and Fay.
