April Rich

April Marie Rich passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loved ones, on June 2, 2015 at the age of 32. April fought a short but ferocious battle with ovarian cancer that took her sweet soul from us far too soon.
April was born on June 10, 1982 to Bill Roy and Lisa (Elggren) Roy. Although April had no biological siblings she did meet her soul sister, Katie O’Donnell, on the first day of 8th grade at Blessed Sacrament elementary. They were inseparable through the end.
April met her soul mate and husband, Wesley Adam Rich, in October 2008 after a cheesy pickup line beat the odds and got the girl. After 4 years of bliss Wes proposed on New Year’s Eve 2013 and they were married September 14th 2013. April was able to share in the joy and love of Wes’ son, Scott. April always longed to be a mother and being a step mother to Scott brought her an infinite joy.
April loved golfing, traveling, sitting on a patio with friends, and BBQs. She was perfectly content spending time alone with her husband enjoying a Netflix marathon or hosting a game night and laughing all night long with friends. April’s relationships were of the utmost importance to her.
April was a proud employee of Iggy’s and Concentrix. Her love of people and magnetic personality helped her to shine by connecting with others. Whether it was an interaction with a “regular” or a conversation on the phone, or in the office, her gentle spirit and was embraced by everyone she encountered. She created lifelong relationships with her colleagues; they were more than friends, they were family.
April is survived by her husband, parents, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a huge network of close friends.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 10:00-11:45am at Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm.
