Anthony Lamont Clifford Sykes “Boo” left this world on June 11, 2022, to be with our Father in Heaven and his Precious grandmother. Anthony was born April 14, 1984, to Lisa Sykes of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Tony Butler of Indianapolis Indiana. He was born a healthy and vibrant baby boy, who had a smile that lit up the world. He had a tender heart and passion for children, and this was evident in the way he treated his own Kiddos. He had what some would call a children’s whisper, that drew all children to him.
Anthony showed a deep love for his family and never hesitated to let them know how much he loved and cared for them. He encouraged all of them, to be all that they could be, and applauded them when they did so. Anthony had a passion and drive for all sports, which started when he was a child. He lettered in basketball, football, and track. He won State in 4X1 (relay) all while attending East High School, where he graduated in 2002. He was a Varsity starter in Football and Basketball and was a shining star when on the field and court. He played fast pitch Baseball for Central City Rec center in mid-school and made the All-Star team for all years he played with them. For all the years he played sports, he stayed connected to Kiwanis Felt Boys and Girls club, were Glenn Klain and other counselors taught him sportsmanship, how to be a team player and encouraged him too always be all he could. A special thanks to Glenn and the “Club”. Anthony was a dedicated worker and valued the opportunities he was given through his employers, and was committed to any task he was assigned.
