Annette Volert-Nielsen peacefully graduated to the next phase of her eternal journey on May 14, 2024. She emigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah with her mother when she was 4 years old from her homeland of Denmark. They quickly made Utah their home and became fixtures in their community. Never shying away from a challenge, she filled her life with experiences and memories that she loved to share with others.
Annette never married, but she built a family by actively engaging others whenever she could. Never afraid to say hello, she would make a new friend every time she left the house. Always seeking to create memories she joined others who shared her passions.
She loved talking about the various cars she had owned throughout her life. She had a special place in her heart for convertibles, especially the Mazda Miata. She owned several and was an active “Lifetime Member” of the Utah Mazda Miata Car Club” she loved to go for drives and joining other club members for a monthly luncheon.
Despite her love for Miata’s, her true love was the Chevrolet Corvette, more specifically the 2004 (C5 body style). She found her “dream car”, a 2004 blue Chevrolet Corvette Convertible and just had to get it. The joy she experienced when putting the top down and taking it for a drive was palpable. The only thing that brought her more joy was to take one of her friends with her.
Perhaps her greatest love was her fur babies. She cared for her pets as fully as any mother cares for their children. Consistently putting their care above all else she they all loved her completely.
Although we will miss her tremendously, we do find comfort in knowing that she will be welcomed on the other side by her loving pets, family and her mother who was also her best friend. We can only imagine the celebration that they are having as the dance together and celebrate their reunion.
We would like to invite everyone to join us in celebrating her life by joining us for services including a viewing and funeral services.
