Anna Nieuwland

Our beloved Mom and Oma, Anna Maria Helena Slappendel Nieuwland, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014. Ann left peacefully to join her loving husband Johannes, whom she missed so deeply since his passing. Ann was born on July 7, 1923 in Den Haag, Netherlands. She married Johannes Nieuwland on June 20, 1951. Together they spent nearly 60 years raising and loving their family. They had three children, Johannes (Barbara) Nieuwland, Ed Nieuwland, and Jeanette/Jenny Healy. They were also blessed with 4 grandchildren, Jessica, BJ, Michael, and Sierra, and 1 great grandson, Maxime. Summer days spent enjoying the backyard swimming pool with Ann will be remembered by all. Her love of gardening kept her active and busy. If Mom wasn’t tending the garden, she could be found tending her soup which was always served so lovingly. You could taste the love in every bowl!
