This world lost a precious soul on January 27, 2015, with the passing of Patricia Ann Sherren Wimber, and she will be deeply missed.
Ann was born on April 5, 1935 in Salt Lake City to Amy Eileen Simmons Sherren and James Thomas Sherren. While attending the University of Utah, she met and married Ray Ted Wimber in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 16, 1956. Together they raised seven children, while residing in five different states over the years.
Ann was a devoted mother, passionate in seeing that all her children lived their best lives! She was thoughtful and considerate with every word and action, treating others in a most warm and caring way. Ann was active in the LDS church throughout her life, with callings that include Relief Society president, Sunday school teacher, accompanist, choir member, and designer of many beautiful church programs.
After the death of her dear husband, and many years of working solely on the home front, Ann went back to college and trained to be an outstanding medical assistant. Later, she shifted her work to support her friend’s new company and contributed much to its success by using her well-honed business and organizational skills. When she was not busy with her work, family, and callings, Ann did much temple and genealogical work, created beautiful quilts for charity and family, read avidly, and was a wonderful friend to many!
Ann was preceded in death by her husband Ray Ted Wimber, her brother Robert Lynn Sherren, her eldest son Gregory Ray Wimber, and her granddaughter Elizabeth Helena Wimber. She is survived by six children: John Logan Wimber, Marianne Wimber Willden , Richard James Wimber, Susan Wimber Goldwasser, Kathleen Wimber Graven, and Daniel Joseph Wimber; three siblings: James Thomas Sherren Jr., Kathleen Sherren Fisher, and Edward Lee Sherren; and 14 loving grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at her LDS ward house, 160 East 4600 South, Murray, Utah 84107 on Saturday, January 31 at 10:30am. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30, prior to the service. Interment will begin immediately following the service, at the Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
Ann always had her eyes and heart turned toward the hardships of others, especially around the world. Donations can be made in her honor to the LDS Humanitarian Services at http://www.ldsphilanthropies.org/humanitarian-services.html
