Andrew Robertson

March 26, 1998 — January 20, 2020

Andrew Robertson came into this world on March 26, 1998.  Andrew passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2020. He was 21 years old. He died in his sleep at home with his father and his brother, Jack. Our family is deeply saddened by his passing.
Andrew was a unique spirit and touched all he knew with his booming presence, his jovial spirit and his big heart. He constantly made new friends along his life’s journey. For all who knew him, we constantly felt his love.
Andrew was passionate about everything he pursued in life. His first love was baseball. He loved baseball and practiced constantly to be the best of his abilities. He loved going to practices and games with his dad. He looked up to all his coaches and he had that teachable spirit that coaches love. He was always proud to put on his Brighton little league baseball uniform.
Andrew loved our lake house. Like his dad, it was his favorite place in the world to be. At the age of 8, he was determined to get up on a wakeboard and, after about 25 attempts, he finally was up. He was so proud that day.  He was not one to follow the rules and, at 14, when everyone was sleeping in, he stole the family golf cart and decided it would be fun to take it in the desert and do some “Fast and Furious” drifting. He crashed into some rocks and destroyed the steering and front end. He managed to get it back to the house and then went back to bed. When we discovered his misdeed, he swore he didn’t do it. That was our Andrew.
Andrew was an avid golfer. After his mom signed him up for the week long golf class at McRiley golf course with his brother, he insisted he needed to repeat the course the following week. He told his mom and dad why it was an absolute necessity that he must have a brand-new set of Callaway golf clubs. He was so good at wearing us down until we finally caved in and did what he asked. He most loved to golf with his Uncle Max and Max was always up for taking Andrew and his brother out for a day of golf. He loved his Uncle Max.
At age 16, he was introduced to fly fishing by his close friend. To this day, he was a fanatical fly fisherman and would often go up to the Provo River to spend the day fly fishing. As soon as he caught one, mom and dad would get the text with a photo of his big smiling face, holding his fish. At 18, on his own, he organized his first of three trips on spring break, to Montana, where he rented a cabin in the woods on the Yellowstone River because that was the best place in the world to fly fish.
The summer he turned 19, he was off to California to sell home security systems door-to-door. Andrew was a consummate salesman. He loved California and, boy, did he love making money. This year, he came to us and announced he was going back to California for his third summer but he was leaving a month early so he could reach his goal of closing over 100 deals. When he put his mind to anything, he was relentless. He reached his goal and made it into the top 2% of Vivint sales people nationwide. He was so proud of that. When he came home, he announced he wanted a new truck and he just, a month ago, bought a brand-new black Silverado. He was so proud of that truck.
Andrew was bigger than life. He had so many plans for his future. His life was cut short by tragedy right when he was on top of the world and had so much to live for.  We will miss him forever.
Andrew is survived by his mother and father, John and Kim Robertson, his sisters, Randi Robertson and Alex Rickard Robertson, and his brother, Jack Robertson.
Andrew was preceded in death by Grandpa Rex Fivas and Grandma JoAnn Fivas and Grandpa Raymond Fivas and Grandma Julia Fivas.
