Andrea S. Pratt

November 30, 1935 — February 17, 2021

If you needed to find Andrea, she could be found in the garden areas of her backyard wearing a straw hat and a fanny pack. A handful of weeds she had pulled out of the ground would be clutched in her hand. Her chickens could be heard rustling in their coop and her dog Bella would clip along at her heels as she cared for her harvest of garlic, tomatoes, jalapenos and pumpkins.
Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend Andrea S. Pratt, 85 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in South Jordan, Utah with her family at her side.
Andrea was born on November 30, 1935 to Leandro and Rufujia Solis. She later married Eduardo G Pratt and spent most of her life in West Jordan and Riverton, Utah.
Andrea exemplified a love, kindness, support and generosity that knew no bounds. Her example served as a role model for her children and grandchildren and her family members credit her example and guidance as the greatest gift they received.
Up to her passing if asked she would say that her greatest accomplishment was the love that she had for her family. She loved to cook and feed everyone and would not allow you to leave her home hungry. Her love was often shown through the meals she made for her family. Her family remembers with fond memories walking into her kitchen and finding her hand rolling and making homemade tortillas, tostadas, and tamales while sneaking bits of what she made to her dog. She would be the last to sit down for a meal, wanting to make sure her family had enough to eat before sitting down herself. With great endearment her family remembers dinners of chile verde, pinto beans and fried chicken as some of their favorites that graced the family table.
Andrea never said no to an invitation to spend time with her family and made sure that even into her later years she attended many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events. Everyone that knew her was blessed by her kindness, genuineness, love, and example. You never left her home not feeling that love for you radiating from her as she would look into your eyes, kiss your cheek or hold your hand and tell you she loved you and was proud of you.
She is survived by her daughters Della (Bill) Savage, Stella (Steve) Iverson, Anita Pratt (Orlando Sanchez), Cody (David) Strate, and her sons John and Edward “Eddie” Pratt; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren with another great grandchild on the way this year.
Andrea is preceded in death by her husband Eduardo Pratt, her four siblings, grandson Brian Iverson, great grandson Brandon Iverson and many friends.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Beehive Homes in South Jordan and Brio Hospice for the love, care and support shown to Andrea.
