It is with a heavy heart that we share the death of our beloved daughter, Amity Lynn Jacketta, 41. She passed away peacefully on January 18, 2018.
Amity (Amy) was born on March 6, 1976 to Chris and Jim Jacketta. She grew up in the Hunter area of West Valley, attending and graduating from Cyprus High School, where she was an Honor Athlete lettering 6 times. She was a member of the Spinnaker drill team that was invited to represent Utah at the 1993 Inauguration parade in Washington D.C. The experience in Washington was a beginning of the political beliefs Amity held to all her adult life.
Amity was comfortable on a beach in Hawaii, on a snowmobile in the mountains or camping with friends in Moab. She enjoyed watching and supporting her talented nieces and nephews in their sports activities. Family holidays were always special for us. She made it a point to celebrate Earth Day with the kids.
She was such an animal lover and mothered many pets, since the first stray she brought home as a little girl. Her cat-kids brought love and comfort to her. Her bird was hilarious. She even believed in Unicorns.
Amy is loved and will be missed always by her family; her mom Chris, her dad Jim, her brothers Jimmy (Lori Jacketta) and Brian (Carrie Jacketta). She will be missed by her 7 nieces and nephews. Her aunts, uncles, cousins and Grandpa A., will remember her fondly. She is preceded in death by her Grandma Atkinson and Jacketta Grandparents.
To those special friends she met and loved along the way; please think of her whenever you hear a Pink Floyd song.
Long you live and high you’ll fly. Smiles you’ll give and tears you’ll cry. And all you touch and all you see, is all your life will ever be.
