Amiede Janet Idehen, age 96, died on July 13, 2020 in West Jordan, UT, USA. She was born on January 12, 1924 in Benin City, Nigeria to Mr. and Mrs. Erhunse of Okokpon, Ovia local government. She married Pa Amos Idehen in 1944.
Amiede loved singing and dancing to cultural songs and music. She loved children and spent a lot of time with the grandchildren in U.S. when they came to visit every July. Amiede loved telling stories about life in the village back home and enjoyed reminiscing about the “good ole days”. She loved being around people and enjoyed sitting and enjoying the company of the Nigerian Association Utah members when they came to visit or when they came for a monthly meeting or holiday celebration.
She is survived by her son, Charles Osuyi Idehen, daughter-in-law Sarra Idehen, one sister Madam Ajueyishi, one brother Mr. Festus Erhunse, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews all around the world.
She is preceded in death by Amos Idehen, her husband, Mother – Edesogie Erhunse, Father – Oriza Oviawe Erhunse
Funeral services will be held privately for her family. There will be a celebration of life after Covid-19 restrictions/lockdown is lifted.
Interment will take place at Memorial Redwood Cemetery at a later date.
