Alta C Williams

April 15, 1930 — October 27, 2021

Alta C. Williams peacefully passed away during her sleep on Oct. 27, 2021 at the age of 91. Alta was born April 15, 1930. (Tax Day) in Minersville, Utah. She was the youngest of seven children. When she was born, her dad said she was a great little tax deduction. At birth she only weighed 2 lbs. 3 ounces. (Her twin sister was a still born). The family kept Alta warm in a shoe box full of cotton balls hanging on the oven door. The doctors said she would never see her teenage years.
All throughout her school years, she was a straight A student, and was Prom Queen. She was a highly intelligent woman. She read a lot, and she had power over words that bowed to her command. She loved poetry, and wrote and published 2 poetry books. Her writings were published worldwide in magazines and Newspapers.
She married Clyde LaRay Williams on September 18, 1948 and later solemnized their marriage in the Manti Temple on June 6, 1964. They adopted a baby boy, and three years later, adopted a baby girl.
Alta loved to crochet. She made many beautiful creations. She loved to travel, and was a great cook. Alta was devoted to her family that she loved very much.
She had a strong Testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She held many callings, and was on the writing committee of the church. She enjoyed reading to Stirling W. Sill each week after his eyes began to fail. She loved her Ward Family who were always there for her and helped her.
Alta is survived by a son, Wesley Bud Williams, a daughter, Connie Lynn Smith, Five grand-children, Summer Dawn Williams, Nichole Rider, Chelsea Ann Williams, Garry Douglas Smith, and seven great grandchildren.
Alta was preceded in death by her mother Loneva Harris Craw Banks, her father Hyrum Lamond Craw, and Step-father Randell M. Banks. Sisters, Nellie Hollinger (Raymond), Ruby Balough (Frank), Idona Coleman (Dave), Lottie, (a baby girl who only lived a few days), Ada Frandsen (Bert). Brothers, DelRoy Craw (Elenor), Denzel Craw (Donna).
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday November 6, 2021 at noon 12:00 PM at Cottonwood Heights Stake House 2220 E. 6890 S. Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Mortuary 3115 E. Bengal Blvd. (7800 S.) Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121
