Almeda L. Maddocks, age 93, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014. She was born in Granger, Utah, on August 8, 1921 to Robie Earl and Catherine Park Smith. She married John E. Maddocks October 25, 1942, later sealed in the Jordan River Temple on April 25, 1998. Almeda attended Granite High School. She enjoyed reading, bowling, roller skating, dancing and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She met her sweetheart roller skating at the S&M Rink. She worked at the Tooele Ordinance Depot and also in the food industry. She was auxiliary president and member of the award winning ritual team in the F.O.E. She was also an organ donor. Almeda is survived by her daughters Lorraine Courtright, Karyn (Rick) Evertsen; sons, John “Bill” (Linda), Mike (Bonnie), Bruce (Becky) and Ken Maddocks; 19 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband John, daughter Susan, sons in law Gary Rasmussen and Leroy Courtright, and great-grandson David Wold. A viewing will be held at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah from 6-8:00 pm on Sunday, September 14, 2014. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Westwood Heights 2nd Ward, 3976 Dimrall Drive (5615 S.), Kearns, Utah with a viewing one hour prior. Interment to follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
