Early Friday morning August 28, 2015 Alma Gordon Larsen, our husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, reunited with his loving parents and siblings. He was born on November 19, 1926 to Alma LaVar and Carrie Elizabeth Larsen in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in Sugarhouse and was a South High School cub. He served in the US Navy Air Corps and was a WWII veteran. He then served a LDS mission to Czechoslovakia. He married Marjorie Ashby in the Salt Lake temple on September 7, 1950. They were the parents of 4 children.
He was a graduate of the University of Utah in power and fuel engineering, and graduated from dental school at Washington University. He practiced dentistry for a number of years in Pleasanton, California. Upon retirement, he served a mission with his wife, returning to the Czech Republic. He was a skilled woodworker and craftsman and especially loved making things for his grandkids. He was an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie and 4 children: Duane (Diann), Cory (Marina), Rodney (Diane), and Christine (Cory) Wofford. He had 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The viewing will be held at the Holladay~Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive on Tuesday September 1, from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 2 at the Sandy Granite South Stake Center located at 2130 East, 100th South. The viewing will be from 10-10:45 am, funeral service at 11am.
