Alice Terry

April 7, 1935 — July 11, 2015

Alice Elnora Wight Terry, born April 7, 1935 and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 11, 2015.
Alice was the oldest of 4 children born to Sadie Venema and Charles Ora Wight.
She married her sweetheart Gene C. Terry in the Salt Lake Temple on May 18, 1956. Shortly after they were married Alice and Gene purchased a camper and as the family came, they enjoyed going on camping and fishing trips.
Charles, Alice’s brother and the only son of Sadie and Charles, lived with Alice and Gene for a time. After Gene passed away, she hosted several missionaries in her home. This was a wonderful time for her, and helped heal her loneliness.
Alice was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, holding many callings throughout her life, including two missions, one in Salt Lake City Church headquarters, and the other in the Washington D.C. Temple.
Alice sold her Balsam Avenue home and lived with Linda for about a year, until finding her Condo. She loved her Condo. She became the Treasurer of the HOA, a non-paying job she loved! She was still the Treasurer upon her death. She must be watching over the HOA right now!
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and a brother. She is survived by two sons, David (Marilyn) and Warren, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Barbara (David) and Linda (David).
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at the Intermountain Medical Center for their special care. Also, a very special thank you to daughter-in-law, Marilyn, for her special care and love in taking care of Alice.
A viewing will be held Sunday, July 19 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT. Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, July 20, 2015 at Union Park 2nd Ward, 700 East 7500 South, Midvale, UT with a viewing 1 hour prior.
