Alice Sidney Nielson

The love of my life, my soulmate, my brains and common sense, Alice Sidney Nielson, 72, passed away at lntermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah while recovering from surgery on July 23, 2019.
Alice was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on January 12, 1947. The daughter of Harriet and Charles Edward Thomason, Alice married Joe Nielson 12/9/1979. Alice attended Buhl public schools, graduating from Buhl High School in 1965.
Following graduation, she attended Idaho State University and Patricia Stevens in Salt Lake City. Alice went on to work for AT&T as a long-distance operator, a job she loved and was good at. She retired from the phone company. She also worked for St. Regis Paper, and later Converges where she worked on the 2010 census.
Alice is survived by her husband, Joe Nielson; two sisters: Patricia Thomason Scott (John) of Pocatello, Idaho and Leah Thomason of Seattle, Washington; mother in-law, ReNee Nielson; and brother and sisters-in-law  Roy Nielson ( Debbie), Glen Nielson (Shelley), Brandee Jensen (Chuck); several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed & Harriet Thomason; Father-in-law, Joseph F Nielson; Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, Lyn & Kim Nielson.
Alice was a quiet loving person who would have helped anyone. She is loved by her family and will be greatly missed. Donations can be made in Alice’s name to the Humane Society of Utah.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. An Open House will be held at the same location one hour prior to services.
