Alice May Echols
1932 – 2022 / In Loving Memory
Our beloved and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and Friend Alice May Echols passed away at home in the arms of her loved ones on January 28, 2022, at 89 years old. Alice was born May 21, 1932 in Alhambra, California to George William Bailey and Helen Eva Strong Bailey. Alice Married Floyd B Echols on August 4, 1950 in the LDS Logan, Utah Temple. Together they shared 8 beautiful Children, 35 Grandchildren, 55 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Alice was a dedicated, loyal & faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many callings she cherished from Relief Society President, Young Women’s President and Temple Worker at the Jordan River Temple and many others. She was an incredible Organist and Pianist in her church callings and she loved playing for her family and her famous family Christmas parties! Alice was so proud of her accomplishment of winning “The Miss Beaumont” Beauty Contest in 1950. Not only did she have beauty on the outside but also on the inside as well. Alice had a deep love for the Tabernacle Choir in which she watched them sing weekly at the Conference Center for many years. Alice’s greatest loves in life were the Gospel and the “Little children.” Every Grandchild and All kids called her “Grandma Candy” Because she was handing out Candy all year round. Everyone truly believed they were her “FAVORITE” because of her deep love for ALL. She always had a huge smile and positive upbeat, happy spirit no matter what. Alice spent her entire life from a young girl until her death showing true charity in every form of the word. She loved to make sure nobody went hungry or felt unloved. She was the biggest example of Christlike love and will truly be missed by ALL! She is survived by her siblings Caroline McBride and Richard Bailey. Children; David (Shelly) Echols, Aileen (Dennis) Winters, Daniel Echols, Mark (Carrie) Echols, Nicholas Echols Greg (Jeannie) Echols, Patrick (Carol)Echols; 35 Grandchildren, 55 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Preceded in Death by her parents, Bud Bailey (Brother) Douglas Bailey (Nephew), June Cox (Daughter), Monty Wade (Son in law), Margaret Echols (Daughter in law), Richard Colton Cox Jr. and Collette Nunez (Grandchildren.) Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 12, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the LDS chapel 11626 S. 300 E. Draper UT. Viewing will be held just prior to the services from 10:00 AM-11:45 AM. Interment will be held at the Memorial Lake Hills Cemetery 10055 s State st, Sandy Utah after the services.Service Information
