Alice Beth Denner

Beth passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 in Heber City, UT at the age of 73, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Beth was born March 12, 1945 to Rachel Elizabeth Durfee and John Ellis Ostberg. She was born in Richfield, UT; grew up in Granger, UT and attended Granger High School. She married William Lee “Bill” Denner on July 26, 1961. They had three children, Faron, Evan and Julie Gay. Beth lived much of her adult life in Sandy, UT.
She decided that she wanted to build her own home, so with her husband (and some help from family and friends) they built a beautiful log home in Timber Lake Estates above Heber City. Her home was a labor of love, and her pride and joy. She shared it with all of us for memorable family gatherings, including sleep-overs, holidays and craft days.
She worked in the Salt Lake area, and was the business manager for Salt Lake Internal Gastroenterologists Clinic. She was also a clinical Hypnotherapist.
Beth learned to sew at a young age and was an accomplished seamstress, having her own drapery business for many years. She loved to hunt and fish, anything that got her out of doors. She shot archery and black-powder. She was an excellent cook. She loved doing woodworking and crafts and shared these talents with her family and friends. There is nothing that she couldn’t master when she set her mind to it. We would tease her that she was given all the organizations skills allotted to our family, so that none of the rest of us got any.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; their two sons, Evan Denner (Casey) and Faron Denner (Maria); seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her siblings, Karl and Alida Ostberg, John Emmitt and Kathy Ostberg, Louise and Ron Long, Doug and Barbar Jo Ostberg, and David and Debbie Ostberg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Gay Denner McCain; her parents, and her siblings, Marion, Martha, Anna, Alfred, Elaine, Dale, and Lorenzo.
Beth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The family would like to express appreciation to the Huntsman Cancer Center and ward member for their service.
Services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2:00PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary (6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123). A viewing will be held two hours prior from 12:00PM to 2:00PM. Interment at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
