Alexander Rosander Smith

July 23, 1982 — October 5, 2024

Alex lived an enormous life at 42 years old. He was born on July 23, 1982 and died on October 5, 2024. To his mother Wendy Rosander. His mother and he lived a full life together until Wendy met and married Thomas Christopher Smith who later adopted Alex as his own. Alex had the privilege of love in many forms. He met Racquel Rico who allowed Alex the privilege to be an instant parent to Bronson, and together Alex and Racquel had Thomas. Alex was always very proud of both of his sons, making sure to instill hard work into their daily lives. Later in life Alex met and married Tava Smith and together they had three daughters Eliana, Eliza and Enola. Being a dad was always very important to Alex, his goal throughout all his medical issues was to ultimately be present in his kids' lives when they became adults, especially his daughters. He understood the importance of his role in their lives. Mentioning constantly the value of walking his daughters down the ‘aisle’ one day.

Alex loved anything to do with sports. He loved to play golf, football, basketball and baseball. As an avid Utes and 49er’s fan, all eyes were on the TV during each game the teams played. Fantasy Football was one of his great loves in sports. He was always talking about his league and others that he was a part of. The camaraderie and hazing between friends was a constant conversation, and how he could make each person upset with a trade or change of the rules.

He also enjoyed family vacations, camping, staycations and one of his recent favorites, being at Lake Powell. He always found great joy in being with the people he loved, finding commonality in all things from music to hobbies. Alex enjoyed going shooting, four wheeling, being outdoors and just being around those who loved and cared for his family.

Alex is survived by his wife Tava Smith and his children, Bronson Renteria, Thomas Rico, Eliana Smith, Eliza Smith and Enola Smith. As well as his Grandmother Pauline Smith, Father Thomas Christopher Smith, and siblings, Amber Smith (daughter Kaia) Edward Rosander (wife Amanda and children Aalias, Edison), Andrey Smith (wife Maddie) Ashley Smith (husband Ian and child Sebastian)

He is preceded in death by his Mother Wendy Rosander, Grandmother Wanda Rosander, Grandfather Paul Rosander, Grandfather Edward Arlington Smith, Aunt Kathy Marie Smith, Stepmother Cynthia Swan-Smith.
