Albert S. West Jr. was born to Albert S. and Flossie Bartholomew West on August 14, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from South High School in 1949. He was very active in sports, and received a football scholarship to Weber State College. He was called for active duty into the U.S. Air force for the Korean War 1951-1952.
He married Mary Forbush in 1953. They raised three sons, and later divorced. He married Wilma Spencer on January 7, 1976, Al was a great father to his two step children. Wilma and Al enjoyed 37 years of adventure together. Al loved working on the farm in Idaho growing up and learned his work ethic that served him well throughout his life. He used to say “Let’s hurry and get this done so we can work on something else.” Al made friends with everyone and everyone loved him. Al was an avid hunter and fisherman and taught his sons well. He retired in 1996 and enjoyed motor-homing across the U.S. and Canada. They spent the winters at the condo in PV, and loved Mexico. They spent summers at the cabin in the woods in Ocean Park, WA.
He is survived by his wife Wilma, sons Brad, Todd (Stacy), and Troy, 2 step-children Angie and Randy Spencer, 4 granddaughters Marissa (Todd), Charity, Sara, and Micah, 1 step-grandson Ricky, 2 great granddaughters and 3 great-grandson, sister Shirley Harwood, many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Art.
