Aipopo Tauafagaoe

Aipopo Misa Tauafagaoe passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her children and family on January 28, 2015 at 6:40p.m.
She was born to Misa Tulika of Matautu Falelatai and Pale Fiso of Vaito’omuli Palauli on February 29, 1932 in Matautu Falelatai, Samoa.
She is the fourth of thirteen children.
Aipopo married the love of her life, Ropati Pa’apa’a Tauafagaoe in Leone, American Samoa on July 11, 1969.
She had five children, Kitiona Tuia(Debbie), Feiloaiga Tuia Olomali’i(Petelo), Aleki Misa, Ioana Lina Tauafagaoe Tooala(Taioalo) and Mareta Marie Tauafagaoe Tipa(Owen).
Aipopo was born into the London Missionary Society faith, her maternal grandparents were early Missionaries/Pastors of the LMS church during early days of Christianity in Samoa. She later converted and was baptized a member of the Seventh-day Adventist faith in 2004. Aipopo loved God with all her heart, so she had great respect for Gods servants in different denominations.
Aipopo attended Falelatai Primary School and Avoka College in Samoa.
She was a dedicated and beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She served her family with integrity, dignity and love. She raised and instilled in her children these same values. Aipopo was a woman of great courage and faith.
She was a housekeeper and homemaker for most of her life, a calling that she cherished. Aipopo was a wonderful teacher of the bible and a strict loving mother. She loved reading the bible and encouraged her children and grandchildren to do the same. She lived her life according to the promise set forth in Philippians 4:13,’ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’
She was a fun loving grandmother to all her grandchildren.
Aipopo is survived by her three daughters, Feiloaiga, Ioana Lina and Mareta Marie; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; her brother, Misa/Sila Tumusolia and two sisters, La’ioleto’elau Misa Fa’amau and Eni Misa Muliaga.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her two sons Kitiona and Aleki; her five sisters, Seleni Misa Tuivaiti, Tulaga Misa, Tofaileava Misa Sauileone, Va’aofiao Misa Patea, Fuafa’ae’e Misa and her four brothers, Misa Esau, Salafaioti Iakopo Misa, Leali’ifano Onosa’i Misa, Fuaiali’i Misa.
Final services will be held at the Redwood Memorial Chapel on Friday February 6, 2015. Viewing for family and friends will be from 12-2p.m. followed by the family service and burial from 2-4.
