Agnes Smith

March 8, 1919 — July 29, 2013

Agnes Elizabeth Smith
March 8, 1919 to July 29, 2013
Agnes was born on March 8, 1919 in Salt Lake City to Carl Albin Carlson and Eva Brigetta Electrica Lindegren. She graduated from West High School. She married her childhood sweetheart, Lester Frank Smith on April 12, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Together they had three children. Our mom was a wonderful homemaker, loved gardening and enjoyed cooking. Everyone truly enjoyed spending time in her home visiting with family and friends.
She had a great sense of humor and lively wit. She was frugal and enjoyed bargain shopping for the grandchildren. She was generous and kind. Many of her most favorite times included traveling with her husband and family on many road trips.
Her family was very important to her and she cherished every moment they spent together.
Agnes is survived by her children: Richard Frank (Jo Ann), Elaine Yvonne Smith and Carolyn Joanne (Mike) Jennings, 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister in law, Mildred Carlson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sister Ellen (Fred) Bentine, brothers Edwin, John (Joy) and Leonard (Mildred) Carlson.
Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Villa for their kind, caring serviceto our mother over the last decade. Their compassion is greatly appreciated for our family.
