Adam Harris

April 5, 1981 — April 24, 2018

Adam Justin Harris
April 5, 1981 – April 24, 2018

Our loving son, brother, dad, uncle and friend, Adam passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on April 24, 2018 in Murray, UT.

Adam was born April 5, 1981 to Dan & Debi Harris. He is the 4th of 5 children.  Adam was always an outgoing kid who loved hanging out with his little sister, Misty and their friends.  He loved playing baseball and softball and played both for many years.  Adam enjoyed camping and the outdoors, spending time with family, friends, and his dogs Kona and Marley.  Adam found a love for the ocean both living in Seattle and visiting Hawaii several times, always telling stories about how he loved the beach and just laying around in the sun.

Adam’s pride and joy was his son, Axel. Adam spent as much time with his son as he could, always taking him to the park and playing catch, or swimming at Grammy’s pool. To pass on that love of the ocean, Adam would frequently visit the beach with Axel in Seattle.  After Adam moved back to Salt Lake, he would talk to him 4-5 times a week and enjoyed every visit he could with Axel.

Adam is survived by his family, Cassie & Axel, mother, Debi Harris, father, Dan (Bobbie) Harris, brothers, Chad Harris, Josh (Jennifer) Bringhurst, Jeremy Bringhurst, sisters, Jaime (James) Konopka, Amy (Lance) May and Misty (Jason) Grieder, 12 nieces and nephews – Sean, Kortney, Garrett, Anthony, Makayla, Katelyn, Nate, Sierra, Christopher, Preston, Dakota, Shayia and his best friends, Josh & Tiffani Jones and Mike & Melissa Eyre, and Ty Mikkelson, many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, uncles, cousins and Dallas.

Thank you to the IMC Shock Trauma ICU for the amazing doctors and nurses that took great care of Adam and his family while he was there.

The scariest thing is when you realize that you are addicted to something.
Whether it is alcohol, self -harm, or drugs.
You know you are addicted when you say to yourself-
“This is my last drink”
“This is my last cut” or
“This is my last pill”
But the thing is you cannot simply stop, because the addiction is an obsession that takes over your mind and every thought.

Incredible change happens in your life when YOU decide to take control of what you DO have power over, instead of craving control over what you don’t.

If you need help and you are ready to make a change – Just speak up and ask – Help is always there.
