Abe (Tio) E. Montoya

November 30, 1939 — September 13, 2021

Our Beloved Son, Brother, & Tio, Abe (Tio) E. Montoya, 81 went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2021, in Midvale, Utah. He was born on November 30, 1939, in Questa, New Mexico to Ismael & Ofrecinia Giron Montoya.
Abe moved with his family from Questa, NM to Bingham Canyon, Utah in 1955. He attended Bingham High School in Copperton, Utah and shortly after joined the Army. After returning from service, he worked for Tooele Army Depot in which he retired after 30 years of perfect attendance. He received multiple awards for Special Achievement for Munitions Operator in the Ammunition Division, Multiple Sick Leave Improvement Awards for using “0” hours for the year, & multiple Recognition Awards.
Abe never married, nor had any children but he had a vary close relationship with his niece Beverly Wagner who was there with him until the very end. She was like the daughter he never had; they shared many memories. Tio had a very loving and caring heart and a very loud voice that he expressed from time to time. That was Tio.
He was a true fighter to the very end, he had a strong will to live and never gave up what was dealt to him in life. He overcame many obstacles, trials and endured many health issues. Tio was a huge fan of wrestling and Judge Judy; if you called or visited him during that time, he would either hang up on you or if you visited him, he would not engage in conversation. He enjoyed listening to old time country music from his taped-up radio on the AM station while watching the cars drive while sitting in his recliner.
The family would like to express our sincere appreciation and many Thanks to his nurse Andrea (CNS) for all the care, concern and assistance she has provided Abe over the last couple of years while living at Harmony Hills.
Abe/Tio will be sorely missed by his sister; Alice (Joe) Romero, Lee (Dianne) Montoya, Jake (Irene) Montoya, Junie (Nena) Montoya, his niece Beverly (Montoya) Wagner, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Helen (Nena) Leyba, Lisa Draper, and Terry (Martha) Trujillo; Neice, Danette Romero.
We love you Tio… until we meet again “click”; Vaya Con Dios. RIP
